Furnace Repair Kit – large

Description

Contains: 0.5 gallons HMG1 FractalBalls (1-4 mm type) and 24 oz. FractalPaste (three cans of 8 oz). For furnace repair up to 1800°C furnaces.  A repair kit works best on furnaces with refractory interiors. Use by mixing fractalballs and fractal paste for large or thin cracks.  For hairline repair use only fractal paste. Dry with hot air or in the furnace itself if appropriate, and heat to the furnace temperature. Touch-up periodically.  Detailed instructions are sent with the order.

As a standard we suggest a 50/50 mixture in small batches to save on waste, once it is mixed it must be used.  Comments from users tell us it depends on the size of the repair.  For large cracks/repairs users have found using more FractalBalls than paste works best for them, and smaller cracks/repairs take fewer FractalBalls.  Sometimes the FractalPaste is enough for the smaller cracks.  As long as the FractaBalls have a good covering with the paste whichever way you choose should be fine.
