Product for Sale: Scientific testing coupon. 1 cm x 1cm Size 304 stainless with nanometer deposits of nano-silver. The average size of nano-silver particles in the coating is about 50-100 nm. Full surface coverage. Substrate stainless steel coupon is about 1″ x 1″ and about 1 mm thick. The coating thickness is ~250nm nominal with a range and topography of ~100 nm variations. The coating will contain an amount of silver in the milligram range (about 100-200mg only). This product is not jewelry but only for science lab testing purposes. Only one coupon per order. *
Use of Product: Sample to test possible efficacy for antimicrobial permanent (durable)- nanosilver on a support substrate of stainless steel.
The particles are firmly attached but may also be wiped under abrasive conditions depending on the force (a typical scratch test result is shown). Porosity will be present.
Variations are possible from coupon to coupon. Silver is two nines pure only and may be minorly oxidized. Natural oxidation of surface is possible, product is shipped in air atmosphere. Patented deposition process.
The product (the nanolayered coating) is expected to contain welded silver nanoparticles (the particles are welded to the stainless surface and to each other). The coating may also contain porosity, and other elements like nitrogen and oxygen may be present in minor amounts. Not all phases will be identified for nano-size coatings.
