Description
Please see the specifications below for the Vertical Use URP Panel:
Nominal Power/Panel: The MHI URP-V Heating Panel is a universal, scalable radiant panel that offers high temperatures of 1200C-1400C at ~1.8 kilowatts (this is the maximum temperature range and maximum power allowed for the heating coils (looped)).
This is a URP-V panel that can be used vertically. Compared to the standard horizontal URP Panel, this URP-V Panel uses comb-type unique materials, URP Fractal Pins (pictures shown), and collars to allow vertical use.
For additional technical information or purchases, please contact MHI at 513-772-0404 or [email protected] or order directly through this store. Two panels will plug in at 110V (however, before using a BPAN-O-PLUS for 110 volts), please check if your 110V socket will permit 2 KW (one panel) or 3.8 kW two panels. If not, a simple 220V transformer and one BPAN-O-PLUS 220 are okay to get.
Please click here for the replacement element (only) for an existing panel.

Mechanical Dimensions Per Panel.
Dimensions
| Dimension | Value |
|---|---|
| L1 | 12 in |
| L2 | 12 in |
| L3 | 9.5 in |
| L4 | 10 in |
| T (Insulation Thickness) | 1.125 in |
| Lu (Terminal Length) | 7 in |
Four panels may be connected in series for a 220-240V plug-in configuration. Balanced series-parallel connections (purple and red in the picture) may be used. All measurements are reported in the free radiating mode.
For layout possibilities, please see the diagram alongside.
L1 = 12″
L2 = 12″
L3 = 9.5″
L4 = 10″
T= 1.125″ (thermal shock-resistant insulation slab thickness below the heater coil).
Lu = 7″ (Terminal Length). The terminals protrude about 6″ from the bottom of the insulation board (on the other side of the heating face). Users may request shorter Lu for quantity purchases.
Options:
The connectors comprise clip-type connectors (used to connect the wire and solid terminal) and two wires. One set, when chosen from the options menu, comprises two clips and two wires, one for each lead. The connectors’ rating is 35 amp wire carrying capacity. Dimension—6″ wire.
If you require an extension beyond the 6″ standard, please contact MHI, and we will happily accommodate the request as best as possible.
The weight will be calculated using the control panel option when checking out.
The correct weight and shipping price will be shown in the final acknowledgment from MHI.
MHI URP-V Heating Panel Specifications
Product Overview
The MHI URP=V Heating Panel is a universal, scalable radiant heating panel designed for high-temperature furnace and thermal processing applications for a vertical configuration.
Each panel utilizes proprietary GAXP heating coils and Fractalin ceramic spacers, securely mounted on a thermal shock-resistant insulation slab. The panel is intended as a modular building block for furnace systems.
Important Safety Notice:
Furnace enclosures should only be designed and assembled by qualified personnel and with approval from a licensed electrician. These panels operate at high current and can reach extremely high temperatures.
Operating Characteristics
- Nominal Power per Panel: ~1.8 kW
- Maximum Coil Temperature: 1200°C–1400°C
- Recommended Maximum Coil Temperature: 1350°C
- Measured with a two-color optical pyrometer
- Orientation: Horizontal use only
- For vertical applications, select the URP-V Vertical Panel
- Two electrical terminals are located beneath the ceramic board (not shown).
Electrical Specifications
Per Panel
