- Connections: 2″ NPT inlet with multiple outlet configurations for single exit construction or the standard discharge of the three exit (discharge) construction. Free exit (3 x 2″) for discharge or choose option for ingle 2.5″ exit options for inline.
- Compact footprint: ~24″ length (depends on the exit configuration) × 10″ diameter (~ 12″ at the body flange)

Process Air Generator. 13 kW, 400v (3pP)
For air: For use at maximum temperatures close to 900C, with about ~20 SCFM flow for air. The pressure drop is less than ~0.3 psi for exit temperatures up to 750 °C. Note that the inlet region (the top entry) may change in dimensions if the sealed feed-troughs, i.e., more than one atmosphere of use, are elected.
Temperature: The pressure drop is less than ~0.3 psi for up to 750°C exit temperature for continuous use. The unit plugs into a 400 V electrical supply for flow and temperature settings up to 900°C. If a control panel is selected, the exit temperature can be adjusted with flow rate (user scope) and power (XPAN (3P) required), or temperature settings on the PID controller.
Unit Description: Custom VTA/MTA Airtorch® Heavy Duty Industrial Air Heater for close to one atmosphere flow.
Outlet: Either (3 x 2″ discharge) or 2.5″ FNPT. Inlet: 2″ FNPT female (see product images). The picture shown may be illustrative and not specific to your unit. Lower exit temperatures are achieved by flowing more gas than the minimum required or by using the XPAN control panel with the power and temperature control panel to control both temperature and power.
Not rated for hot gas input beyond 200°C. Not rated for wet input. Note: Parts of the surface are hotter than 50°C during use. This Airtorch® has several Type “K” thermocouple installed as a standard for process and overtemperature thermocouple use.
- The built-in Thermocouple can be linked for external display.
The units as offered are for atmospheric use or up to 2 Bar only with the feedthroughs. Control panels that provide feedback control XPAN (3P) are highly recommended when using above 600°C (400V) for use with the correct flow. For users who wish to adjust power or use it at below maximum power, an XPAN (3P) Control Panel is recommended. Generally, when operating near the maximum rated temperature of 900 °C, we recommend the XPAN (3P) control panel, an SCR-based control panel which accepts a overtemperature cut-off T/C (thermocouple) and one process T/C. The unit itself has up to a to a total of three TCs. Please contact MHI at 513-772-0404 for electrical control panel quotes or use the pull-down menu above for standard panels.
Please call MHI to verify the pressure drop at the intended use temperature when above 600C.
