Description
Please see the specifications below for Vertical Use URP Panel:
Please click here if the requirement is only for horizontal use with upward radiation.
This is a URP- V Panel that can be used vertically. Compared to the standard horizontal URP Panel, this URP-V Panel additionally uses comb-type special materials, URP Fractal Pins (pictures shown), and collars to allow vertical use.
For additional technical information or purchases, please contact MHI at 513-772-0404 or [email protected] or order directly through this store. Two panels will plug in at 110V (however, before using a BPAN-O-PLUS for 110 volts), please check if your 110V socket will permit 3.8 KW. If not, a simple 220V transformer and one BPAN-O-PLUS 220 are okay to get.
Please click here for the replacement element (only) for an existing panel.
Mechanical Dimensions Per Panel. Please refer to the diagram above for dimensions. The diagram provides layout possibilities.

T= 1.125″ (thermal shock-resistant insulation slab thickness below the heater coil).
Specifications:
Nominal Power/Panel: The MHI URP Heating Panel is a universal, scalable radiant panel that offers high temperatures of 1200C-1400C at ~1.8 kilowatts (this is the maximum temperature range and the maximum power allowed for the heating coils (looped)).
• Each panel features special heating GAXP flat-coils (as shown) and Fractalin-ceramic spacers (not all shown) mounted firmly on a thermal shock-resistant insulation slab.
• This is a scalable module.
• Please only construct a furnace enclosure with these panels with approval by a local electrician – the panels carry current and can heat to high temperatures.
• Each panel has two terminals below the ceramic board (not shown in the picture).
• For Horizontal panel, please choose the low-cost horizontal URP Panel.
When using, please ensure that no specification is exceeded, i.e., of the rated current, voltage, power, and temperature. This heating panel can be used with a BPAN control system, which can also be acquired from MHI Inc. Please email [email protected] or call 513-772-0404.
Electrical Specifications: Each panel’s maximum panel volts are 55- 58V, and the maximum current should not exceed 30 Amps (RMS maximum). The maximum coil temperature should not exceed 1350C on the coil as measured with a two-color optical pyrometer. Note that two units in series equal 110V-120V plug-in.
Control Options:
• One URP panel – BPAN-O-PLUS and Power Transformer (the transformer is to step down the voltage from 240 V to 58V) (choose a BPAN-O-PLUs-120 or BPAN-O-PLUS-220) and Power Transformer.
Two URP panels in series- a BPAN-O-PLUS-220 (with a transformer required for 240V or 220V to 110V). Please order the BPAN-O-PLUS 220
• Four URP Panels in series- a BPAN-O-PLUS-220 (no transformer required if a 220V or 240 V supply is available)
• Controls for more than 4 URP Panels – please contact MHI. ([email protected] or 513-772-0404.
A control thermocouple and an over-temperature thermocouple should be chosen for the BPAN-O-PLUS Control Panel. Thermocouple options are shown. Please also choose the thermocouple extender wire for each thermocouple.
Four panels may be connected in series for a 220-240V plug-in configuration. Balanced series-parallel connections (purple and red in the picture) may be used. All measurements are reported in the free radiating mode.

Lu = 7″ (Terminal Length). The terminals protrude about 6″ from the bottom of the insulation board (on the other side of the heating face). Users may request shorter Lu for quantity purchases.
Options:
The connectors comprise clip-type connectors (used to connect the wire and solid terminal) and two wires. One set, when chosen from the options menu, comprises two clips and two wires, one for each lead. The connectors’ rating is 35 amp wire carrying capacity. Dimension—6″ wire.
If you require an extension beyond the 6″ standard, please contact MHI, and we will happily accommodate the request as best as possible.
The weight will be calculated using the control panel option when checking out.
The correct weight and shipping price will be shown in the final acknowledgment from MHI.
